Amid the Covid 19 outbreak many life insurance carriers have taken reactionary measures. Some aren’t accepting any applications, many have suspended their simplified / instant issue products, some haven’t taken any action at all.
However, a few of our carriers have lightened up on screening requirements in order to make the application process faster, completely remote, and safer – by keeping the process digital only and not requiring exams.
Personally, I’ve quoted, sold, and submitted six electronically signed life applications in the last 36 hours. None of which required an exam.
If you have been putting off getting or adding life insurance to your personal protection plan, there is no better time than now.
Could this change? Absolutely, this is completely new territory for all of us.
Do all limits and applicant ages forego an exam? No, but so far we’ve been able to find an acceptable limit regardless of age that falls under the threshhold.
What if the limit I desire requires an exam? Many people are nervous about the exam due to the isolation order. However, the paramed teams that conduct the exams are medical professionals and are taking all steps and more to keep both you and themselves safe. While I understand that some people simply won’t submit to a medical screening right now, personally I would feel comfortable doing so.
