I am on Medicare, what if my prescription drugs change in the middle of a calendar year?
No worries!
When you are reviewing your annual plan or enrolling in a Part D Prescription Drug plan (PDP) for the first time, your current prescriptions and preferred pharmacies are assessed. This information doesn’t lock you into specific prescriptions or pharmacies; it’s aimed at helping you choose the most appropriate plan for your needs at that moment.
Throughout the year, if your prescriptions or pharmacy change, you don’t need to adjust your plan.
Whether you have a stand-alone PDP or prescription drug coverage through your Medicare Advantage plan, just send your prescription to your chosen pharmacy. Present your prescription card, and the pharmacy will provide coverage details for your new or different prescriptions. Keep in mind that both drug prices and plan benefits may change each year.
We highly recommend an annual review of your prescription drug plan.
Reach out to us now to schedule an appointment during the Annual Enrollment period (October 15 – Dec 7) for a thorough review of your current PDP. Even if your medications remain the same, it’s beneficial to review these policies annually to ensure you’re still in the most appropriate plan.
